Haiku - In response to " Poetry Party Theme: Expanding the Heart in Gratitude"

I recently found Christine's website, and have found a kindred spirit. In her words, which are far more eloquent than mine, " My primary work is to integrate spiritual formation & contemplative practice rooted in the Christian tradition with the healing practice of the expressive arts and the cycles of the natural world."

When I was creating art quilts, I found this was what I tried to express. Art quilts were definately a healing practice for me, a way to express myself, along with regaining my cognitive skills and sewing skills. I hope I touched a heart with my art, sharing myself and my story of recovery. There's so much I gained, I am forever grateful. Thanks be to God.

New Digital Art

Here's a digital piece I've been working at for a few days. It's starting place was a hand pulled print made in a class with Rayna Gilman. I wonder if she remembers our fabric challenge. It doesn't have any resemblance at all to this art work. What fun I had creating this.
I find it hard to resist anything fiber or mixed media art related, so here's a link that incorporates both. Clean, simple, and unique.

Sepia is a favorite technique for a certain portion of photographers. It brings back thoughts of times of long ago. This is a redo of Yellowstone flowers, done for this month's monochromatic competition for OVA. (Online Visual Artists)

Touching Therapy Dog video tribute

Therapy dogs are the best embodiment of unconditional love in action.
I need to get busy and start training one of our girls. I don't know that they both have the right personality, but I think the younger one might be a good candidate.

Here's a recent photo shoot with a calla lily that caught my eye at the grocery store. I thought it would be a great subject for OVA's Floral challenge. I have several other images that I'm currently working with that involve this calla. The line and colors are what drew me in.
